Woz Prefers The Razr

who said it was bullet resistant?

No body...it's a stretch on the Kevlar thing..lol... please see the previous comment about hitting my head as a child lol

Just a thought... but has anyone shot a razr yet??? Sounds stupid I know... and there are different grades of Kevlar... but think about the publicity of the first bullet resistant phone....??? Maybe??? Maybe it was that hit to the head I took when I fell as a child.... idk

Someone remind me to NOT be around him with my RAZR in my hand...

I wouldn't recommend shooting a RAZR, but there's news stories about an ipod and Droid incredible stopping a bullet. So a RAZR wouldn't be the first.

I know this was meant partially in jest but just to be clear kevlar itself is not bullet proof. With 17 years active duty in the Marines i have seen my share of kevlar helmets with holes or chunks taken out if them. It is more for basic protection and slowing down the bullet to minimize the damage.

When i peeled the back off my RAZR, i actually ripped/cracked the back in the corner.

The razr may survive the impact of a bullet, but the shock of the impact would probably render it unusable.

I'd also agree with Woz on his choice of phones. The Gnex is a great phone, but I'd take the Razr and the Rezound over it.

Wow... I've heard the story where a womans implants saved her life in a car crash..... must've still hurt like u know...... its all relevant to the gun, bullet, and velocity... if its been deflected... so on...but yeah I wouldn't doubt it... in my life I've seen some stuff that I still have a hard time believing ... and some I still don't ... thanks to the USN

Lol. I wouldn't say failed. I appreciated the humor in it but i have heard some talk about it being bullet proof and they seemed to be serious. Wouldn't want anyone out there thinking they can stop an armed thief cuz they have a RAZR in their shirt pocket. Lol

I didn't think people were that gullible.. I should've realized.... lol.... good catch...

I hereby affirm that no phone is intended to stop bullets... please don't think that because u have Kevlar in your phone that you are now impervious to bullets.... IT'S DUMB... DON'T DO IT!!!!! And I hereby accept no legal responsibility if anyone who reads the afore mentioned post is moronic enough to attempt said action... YOU MIGHT GET LUCKY ONCE... BUT YOU'LL PROBABLY DIE!!!!

.... there... my hands are clean lmao

The deciding factors for me getting the Gnex was the unlocked bootloader and form factor. I don't think I could stand not having my own custom rom and kernel. The form factor on the Gnex to me is way better then the RAZR. The RAZR was just hard to hold and was to thin for me. Also one thing I hate about Blur is how the app drawer on the stock launcher is like a separate app and it takes a sec or two to load it. I understand you can use another launcher but still.

With the overlays manufacturers put over android I think they did make it better in some ways but I prefered stock. Stock to me looked better the any overlay. I guess I don't like all those flashy things they add.

Now with ICS I think they are ruining ICS. ICS is supposed to redefine what android looks like and make it look nice and sleek. With the recent Sense and Touchwiz ICS leaks they make it look like GB again. I hope these leaks are just pre-alpha and they change stuff to make it look more like ICS.

Everyone to there own though.

So if Google changes the look of Android with ICS, isn't that "skinning"?

No. Skins are user interfaces that go on top of the operating system. They usually add their own icons, docks, menu styles, and widgets.

ICS without a skin will be in its base form.

I wasn't being serious, LOL, just throwing that out there.

So if Google uses the "ideas" from HTC, Moto and Samsung skins, because they incorporate the ideas into base ICS it's not skinned? Seems to be splitting hairs a bit, don't you think?

I understand what a skin is, it just seems that the line between "Vanilla Android" and skinned versions of Android is being blurred, so to speak.
