Search here and other forums you'll see plenty of comments from people who have purchased from Wirefly before. Yes, they handle activating the phone, transferring the number, etc. They are Verizon's largest authorized dealer and they also run the sites for Best Buy, Radio Shack, and dozens of others.

Meh. Happens to all smartphones. Maybe not $49 specifically but they do drastically drop in price over time in general.

Cheapen the phone? It is an electronic device, not a status symbol. Technology marches on and gets cheaper all the time, just the way things work.

I guess for some it is a status symbol -- their mistake/loss.

They are. Just read and understand their terms as with any reseller.
