wipe doesn't work, nor does RSD Lite see phone

OK...my situation is this: regardless what I do with bootstrap or Rom Manager, Clockwork Recovery isn't fully wiping the phone when I try...I'm positive of this because...if I have Simply STunning on my phone and I wipe and install another rom...it still boots up Simply Stunning with aspects of the other rom...I tried to go from Focused 1.0 to Simply Stunning X and now I've got a cross between the two, which doesn't function properly...it doesn't matter what I do or how many times I wipe....
also, I've been trying to flash the sbf file, but I'm unable to do that either, as RSDlite doesn't register my phone...

what can I do? is it time to call it in lost to the insurance or can I get past this?​
