I've read from several outlets now that Google is coming out with a minimum requirement for Gingerbread (3.0), 3 of the reqs being;
1) 4" display
2) 1ghz CPU
3 512mb RAM
If those are indeed the requirements, neither the D1 or D2 meet them. It seems kind of silly to me that a brand new phone that ships with 2.2 will never see another major OTA update due to being .3" short on screen size, and a rooted D! is only missing the RAM if the user chooses to overclock their CPU.
I'm sure our fine hackers will be able to port Gingerbread over to the devices, but I'm curious if either device will ever see another major OTA update. Thoughts?
