will pictures of the sun damage my camera lens on my droid x?

I was doing some browsing and i found out that taking pictures directly into the sun can damage your camera lens. i was wondering would it do the same amount of damage on a phone's camera lens, specifically the droid x

I am no camera lens expert, but I would imagine it is not healthy nor recommended by the manufacturer...:icon_eek:

If direct sunlight can destroy a regular camera lens, i would hazard a guess that a cell phone lens is just as apt to go bad since it is made with cheaper parts and materials...but thats just a guess...
