Wifi Tether for Root doesn't work

I have a Droid 2 that I was finally able to root after installing the right drivers from the SDK. I have the SuperUser app in my app tray, though there are no permissions visible when I run it. I installed wifi tether for root from the market, yet when I run it, it says it is unable to start tethering. Any idea how I can get this to work?

You must not have successfully rooted your device.

That's what I used to root my phone, I've used this method successfully 3 times so far. I'm guessing you used the XDA forums 1 2 3 root method?
