Why are our MFLOPS scores so low?

most 1ghz androids get a MFLOPS of ~30...

our OC'd droids get around ~19. yet in quadrant we score MUCH higher, passing the nexus one by a mile. what's up with that? can anyone explain?

where do you get mflops on other phones clocked at the same speed?

Testing 2 different things really. Quadrant seems to be an overall system test so I would say its score is more relative than linpacks.

but still, linpack checks the CPU. so is OC'd OMAP to 1250 is bs compared to snapdragon 1ghz?

I don't think its bs....they work differently is all. I wouldn't worry about theoretical scores anyways.

Different processors get different performance at different speeds. I used to have an amd clocked slower than my buddy's intel and we got similar performance.

LOL the Linpack benchmark is a static, synthetic benchmark very similar to the BogoMips that used to be reported when booting into VERY early versions of linux. A true benchmarking suite like SpecFP / SpecInt would be a better test overall if they ever made something like that for Android. Quadrant is a decent overall benchmark testing system and graphics performance.

It is because linpack is made for benching Qualcomm processors. Our Droid has an TI OMAP.

I can't figure out why I'm getting
around 19MFLOPS and only 800 scores for Quadrant?

Does the stagefright player mod (for streaming)
affect this?

I'm running
P3's LV 1.2Ghz kernel and BB v0.4 on Froyo 2.2 FRF84B
