Who is getting it day one and who is waiting???

I got a thunderbolt on day 1, and I can say I won't be buying phone that soon anymore. I had to experience its battery issues first hand, and even had to pay $30 for them to take it back. I think i'll wait for some reviews.

I'm curious how Costco is going to handle upgrades with their deal .. or if its just for new customers!?

I recently did an upgrade for my brother at Costco 3 months ago and it's just like Verizon handles them. He had a 2 year upgrade ready in our plan, I'm the main line so I went in and signed a new 2 year contract for his number and got the upgrade phone price (brought his Droid Inc2 down to like $69).

Now, with their crazy bundle deal, with all the accessories/docks, I just don't know how that will work. I still don't believe they're going to be doing all that and the Bionic for $299, it just seems too good to be true.

That's like $600+ in value and I don't see how it works out for Costco, since it's Verizon who will be the ones benefiting from your new 2 year contract.

The entire reason to do bundles and discounts is to entice customers into signing a new contract to keep you in business with Verizon and yet that doesn't prove helpful to Costco at all.

That's the part I'm curious about... has to be some catch... ya know the ol'e saying, if it sounds to good to be true....

Will wait, and be on the lookout for sales at Fry's and Amazon... Bionic is nice, but not worth the $299 for me. At $199, I would buy it, but not more.

Reason I am going for the Bionic, despite the upcoming Vigor/Prime/DHD, looks like its going to receive a lot of OG Droid followers, and with it, probably will have the greatest community support since OG Droid.

As it has shown, OG Droid is still running strong, thanks to the community, especially the ROM developers... thanks to them, I still love my Droid, and have not felt, I needed to upgrade.

I covered this in my other thread posting but according to the verizon sales rep that I spoke to yesterday- phone will be going on sale september eighth and they have no information whatsoever about pre orders so he thinks that there will be none

well I would say with the ability to root out of the box I will be getting the droid bionic day one.

I like to know where you heard that because the verizon rep who confirmed to me the sept. 8th date said they have heard NOTHING about preordering and therefore do not believe there will be a preorder unless it is online only

Purchasing Day 1 most definitely. I'm tired of waiting of waiting for the next best thing that's always right around the corner. If the Prime does come out this fall I may just buy it retail.

Since my D1 is still functioning perfectly I think I'll wait a couple of weeks. I'm hoping the price will drop after the initial buzz dies down......a girl can dream ;)

I have rooted my D1 primarily for wireless tether. But as a side benefit I have loved loading different ROMs. If the Bionic can be rooted but has a locked bootloader, does this mean we can't load ROMs with ROM manager?

Can't justify $299 for a phone. Even with a $30 or $50 discount Maybe wait till contract end date in Nov. maybe price will go down by then. Pretty happy with rooted D1. Running fast and strong
