Currently the Droid and iphone are the two biggest phones, but what will the next one be and when is it coming out? I just want to see how it compares to the droid.
There will always be something that is better right around the corner. It is just impossible to have the best of the best for very long in today's world. It's like this with phones, laptops, and most other technology.
Rumors are that it will be released sometime during the first quarter of next year, possibly in January. It will only be available on T Mobile. There is also a rumored Android device called the Passion that will supposedly come out on Verizon during the first quarter of 2010. The specs on that phone are very impressive as well.
In the Technology World, being the "Top Dog" for a month is almost unheard of, any longer than that is very rare. It is usually numbered in "days". The fact that no one has countered the Droid after over a month is pretty amazing IMHO.
I am surprised some of the other companies haven't released something "better" to try and take the wind out of thr Droid's sails(and sales) is unusual, especially since they knew it was coming for a long time.
Of course Verizon's "perfect" marketing campaign has helped dramatically also, I smell some advertising awards lurking for their Droid ad campaign. They really did do a great job of marketing this "thing" AND at the same time putting ATT on the defensive with their "Maps" campaign. The combo of this and a fantastic product like the Droid has created the "perfect storm"...for now.
I guess that depends on the person. The hardware specs are more impressive, especially the 1ghz processor. However, lack of a hard keyboard puts the Droid above it for my personal needs.
I've heard some good things about the Nexus One. I'm not sure how accurate his info is, but a friend was talking about 30USD/month costs with unlimited text and minutes and international capabilities for no extra fee. It sounds good...
