What phone were you using previously?

I've had numerous smartphones/dumb phones... but RIGHT before i made the switch to the D1 I was using a Blackberry Bold 9700 with ATT.. It wasn't the phone that made me switch.. just att's service (i worked for them while carrying att).. Thought about sticking with a BB but vzw didn't have the BB 9750 at the time PLUS they really don't have the same amount of apps..

But, in my opinion the BB was all about business anyway.. YES the droids and iphones can do just about everything a BB can do.. but they are looked at more for the apps/games for the normal consumer.. More as something fun/a toy than something meant for business.. I will also say, even though it was only a 3.2 the camera/pictures were MUCH more crisp then either droid i've owned as well...

A phone running win mob 6.1 that I doubt anyone here has ever heard of, the Motorola A4500 Napoleon.

Probably the bastard mother of the MC70.
lol, no not quite. It was also known as the Q9n and is similar in size and form factor to the 'Q' series. Basically only about 400 were made, none of the CSR's at VZW knew what it was since it shows up as a test device when activated. It never made an actual release, mine says "Not for resale - not shareable" on one side and "Engineering Sample" on the other. It has most of the features of the Droid, unlocked GPS, WiFi, etc. and I had gmail, google maps, facebook and quite a few others on it. The main difference is that its not touch screen, a bit slower processor and a smaller screen.

Before I got my droid from a friend I was using blackberry storm 2 but I decided I wanted to play with droid so I sold it on ebay for $275. Bought droid from friend for $50 and never looked back.

Still have 12 months left on contract with verizon before I can get upgrade discount so droid will have to last a bit.

Got my first D1 the day it came out (wow, already over a year ago!), and I was so ecstatic to finally get rid of my LG Voyager.
