What is your current ringtone thread

Vintage phone (dingdingding) ringtone
Pager beep for messages

I personally do not like mp3 ringtones. They sound like crap on phones especially with the fact I listen to mostly hard rock/classic rock/metal.

I have always used a few for my ex though. Used The Enemy by Godsmack and I Don't Care by Apocalyptica. "If you were dead or still alive, I don't care, I don't care".

i have had "sleepyhead" by passion pit for a while now, since before i had the droid. but then they used it on tv in some commercial for htc i think, and it ruined it for me. currently switching between Flogging Molly tracks and and "O Death" from o brother where art thou.. ;)

My main numbers use the theme from Peanuts. My work numbers ringtone is Imperial March from Star Wars, and the contact pic is Vader.

Phone - Jeff Hardy's old entrance song from WWE.

Text - "Free your mind" En Vogue (with purple LED notification)

Email - no tone, just an orange LED notification.

I use Ringdroid app.

I use that but how do I set my ringtones for text message alert?

Good question lol, i never set one for that so if anyone else can chime in we will all learn something new today.

It's been a few weeks, but if I remember correctly I had to create a "notifications" folder on my sd card and copy my "free your mind" ringtone to that folder to enable it to show in the list for text notifications.

I use Handcent, but I'm sure assigning a ringtone to a text works the same way as it does for the default app. You have to go into the app like you are going to send a text, hit the menu button (3 lines at the bottom of the screen on the Droid), go into settings then to notification settings and you can select a ringtone there.

Let me know if you have any more questions and I can try to retrace my steps in a bit more detail, but the key to setting it only for text messages is to have that feature open and hitting the menu button. And the key to using one you created or found is to put it in a notifications folder.

At least this is how I did it. There are probably other ways. Good luck.
