What is with the wallpaper issue?

Okay, I have no idea what this is, but I have been trying to use a personal picture that I took with the phone's camera as my wall paper. Why can I not select the entire image? I get this square box and I can drag the corners so that the box selects part of the image from side to side, but what good are the arrows that show up and down when you cannot increase the length of the box to cover the whole image?

It is extremely frustrating because no matter what I do it blows up the picture so huge that you really cannot even see it...

Any suggestions?

Use crop wallpaper from the market. Not only will it fix your cropping problem but it will also keep image quality And make the picture look much better.

Another good 1 is wallpaper set and save. Both of them are the market.
