Okay I was rooted before and was stuck on the leaked 5.7.893. I applied the marvelous hack and got to 5.5.893 and now on 5.9.901 with forever root. However, I have a friend that was not rooted and took the OTA to 5.5.893 and then updated to 901. Anyone figure out how to root 901 or go back easily and have root again on 901?

What hack are you referring to to get to 5.5.893?

I think I remember reading that you could reapply that patch and that you could root in the middle of that process between steps. You may want to read the main thread and if you don't see it there, post your question.

Merry Christmas,

How did you install the the 901? I was on version 7 and got back to stock 886 with full bloat.. It would not let me install 901. SO i installed 5.5.893 and that worked. Then again tried to install 901 and got the same error message. I am gettin th status 7 build/ prop error.

You'll have to extract that .rar file to your computer and then run the .bat file from your computer. Use something like winrar to extract it.

Yes this possible. Youll run into cdt problems though once you install the 893 update. Youll run inti peoblems with the cdt.bin file however there is a script that you run at that point that fixes it.
