Verizon Smartphone Discount

A few days ago there was talk how Verizon was going to discount data for smartphone users.

As far as I can tell, it's only for smartphone activations, not those of us with family plans with smartphones already.... Right?

Let's see what it says (emphasis added):

Receive a $9.99/month credit on your bill for each secondary line you activate or upgrade

Offer valid for new and first time Smartphone purchasers with a 2yr agreement on a Nationwide Family SharePlan.

It would apply to your family plan with smartphones if you upgraded or added a line.
