Verizon rep said Rezound was already unlocked?

there is a ton of info on unlocking a Rezound but I called Verizon for an unlock code and the rep said there's no code it's already a global unlocked phone. Is it?

Yes it is carrier unlocked. However you're better off rooting your phone so you can adjust the APN settings if you're going to another carrier with the Rezound.

In this instance they are correct, let me explain...

The Rezound is NOT CARRIER LOCKED, meaning with the proper ROM, SIM, and APN information, you can put any GSM SIM in the phone and it will function.

The Rezound's BOOTLOADER is LOCKED by default, to load a custom ROM, root, or other stuff, to unlock that you need to use HTCdev.com and unlock the phone. This is all the information you will find on the forums about "unlocking" the phone... it is not actually unlocking the phone in a GSM carrier lock sense, but unlocking the bootloader.
