I was listening to some music while reading through an article on my phone only to have my song stop. Now I'm first thinking my headphones died only to find out it was a result of a muted video playing from the ad from the site.

Of course I was angry and was about to write a post venting on the matter until I decided to look into a solution.

I went into my chrome settings (3 dots on top right while in chrome) and turned it off.

Actually I think I have to block notifications from that site as well.

It came back so I just tried blocking the notification.

Following. Haven't had this issue while listening to music, because I mostly do that while driving, but I do find it annoying that I get a notification that some video ad is playing in chrome while reading an article.

Yeah and so far haven't found a fix yet. So I may just have to refuse going to sites, like Android authority, that autoplay video ads.

I need to edit the title ...actually edit the thread. I did not figure out a way to prevent ads from playing and stopping my music. But I did find that when it does play pause it and continue reading. That will at least keep it from continuing to stop my music. Before when I swiped it away it would pop back up and stop my music again.

I use Opera and don't have the issues. I was thinking of switching to Chrome. Glad I haven't yet.
