USB problems with SD card?

Why does my SD card unmount everytime I plug in the USB cord into my laptops USB port. All data disappears and I get a message saying there is no SD card. Unplug it, and it magically reappears. Doesn't do it plugged into the charger that came with the phone.

I was having the same problem, I realized that it was dependent on the "mode" that I had set my droid for. When you connect your droid you can pick either: PC Mode, Windows Media Sync, USB Mass Storage, or Charge Only. When in USB Mass storage it makes your SD card available to the computer it is plugged into and un-mounts it from your phone. If you want to be able to access your SD card and use the Media Share app, use the PC Mode option. The Windows Media Sync will open up Media player so you can sync all your mp3 files to the phone.

This isn't a problem, this is for your own protection so you don't try to do anything stupid with your SD card.
