updated D2 to 4.5.601.A955.Verizon.en.US, now notifications repeat over and over

I have a Verizon droid 2, I updated to 4.5.601.A955.Verizon.en.US today.

Now when I get an email or text message my notification sound plays over and over tens of times.
When in the menu selecting the ringtone it even plays over and over again. ( about 30-50 times)

Is this an option that I can turn off or do I have to wipe my phone like Verizon support is saying to do?

I think I might have it figured out. The new version has a bug where really short ringtones play over and over. I have a Chocobo wark as my notification tone and its .7ish seconds long. It was a wav file so I re-encoded it to an mp3 and it does the same thing. So I added 1 second of silence to make the clip 1.7 seconds and then it worked just fine, no repeating.
