update fails

Ok, thank you! My phone is not rooted since the last update. At least I don't think it is. The update keeps failing and when I press both volume buttons it says the problem is slacker radio. I even did a factory reset and the update still fails due to slacker. Can anyone help me?!

What system version are you running? (settings/about phone/system version)

First, download/install/run Root Checker app to verify root:

If you are not rooted and on 5.5.886 or .893, then you should download forever root(I can upload to dropbox for you if needed). After root, you can correct issue using the instructions in the Update Failure due to Missing or Corrupted System Files and your Rooted? Fix! thread linked to previously.

If you are not rooted and on .901 then you will need to run the fxz file created by Sargentmajord found in this thread:

I can't find where to download forever root. Can you send me the link? I wanted to reroot my phone after updating to 893, but I couldn't figure it out using the same method I used previously. Thanks so much for all your help and this is def the most helpful DROID community!

If you haven't already installed moto drivers and set-up your PC to recognize your Bionic, here are the drivers needed:

Just extract the drivers, plug your phone in and direct the set-up to the i386 folder.

Extract and with phone still connected you are ready to run new install of 43v3r root from menu that pops up on PC screen after clicking Root.bat
