Unlock screen on 2.0.1

i like the old arc style better. simply because it's more ergonomic as you swipe with your fingers, you tend to arch (without bending finger). when i first saw it, i kept bragging to my iphone buds how arc is better/cooler. now it's just like the iphone. lol

New one definitely looks slicker and is EASIER to do because you don't have to arc your swipe...
Actually, you never had to "arc your swipe". But I agree, new one looks better for sure.

I think its fly!

What in the world does THAT mean?

Hahaha, kids and their language.

Means "cool" or "awesome", pops
Haha, "fly" is not exactly "new", really

Did somebody really suggest rooting the Droid just to get the old unlock screen? Seriously?

haha, well i'm coming from using my ipod touch a ton, so thats the kind of thing iusers would do (make little hack changes like that). its really not a big deal though.

I'm having a much harder time answering calls with the new unlock. It's lower on the screen and your thumb doesn't naturally move that way - so it's much harder to hold the phone with stability. I wish there was a way to change it back.

I agree here. It's not the swiping motion that's different, it's the location on the screen. Maybe smaller hands don't have an issue but I'm 6'4" with large hands and it is difficult to unlock/answer/mute the phone one handed now. Before I could swipe my thumb across the screen with it fully extended, now I have drag my thumb across the screen by bending my thumb into my palm (as if making a fist) rather than simply swiping it. Makes it harder to unlock without losing my grip on the phone but not that big of a deal i guess. If I had my choice I'd prefer the old one.

I couldn't agree more. I loved the old style better. The arc was very ergonomic and that it was different. Thanks a lot iCrap. At first I was surprised with the iphone unlock screen app up for download and now they come out with an update to make a similar one permenant. Now those who aren't on at&t will feel right at home with this new unlock much like the iphone. Damn...

If you don't like the home screen after the update, you could try LockBot. Seemed to work well on my Droid. That's the program I tried, however there are other ones out there the replace the lock screen.

I agree that the arc is better, for ergonomics and aesthetics. I can't stand the new 'strait' lock. You would need an extra joint in your thumb to make that feel right.
