Are you kidding me? None of the Genius Droid devs have developed a volume hack or app to increase headphone volume or maybe even volume to the blue-tooth... What... The World... is that about?

I agree 100%...I know its not "safe" but if you have different types of headphones, volume at max is pretty low :(.

I agree also! When playing a cd or ipod in my car 22 is loud. I have to put the volume on max (38) for the droid and its still low. I work at a machine shop and its loud and the droid is too quiet. My ipod on the other hand is loud enough. Id pay to have something developed

Has anyone tried any of the equalizer apps in market? I know there's tons. I've never had any need for music on my Droid (my Sansa Fuze freaking pwns), so I really don't know anything else that could help.

Without an update for the hack i doubt there's going to be any way. Some sort of amplification app would be wonderful. Pity nothing has come by. Where there's a will, there's a way.

I would love to have this happen. I have a headset that I use when I am out mowing the lawn, and at times it is hard to hear anything even though I have the volume on the handset and headset as loud as it will go.

So the new Louder Volume Hack (v4) is in Beta stage and i got and email that it's not supporting Moto Droid... Not sure why this would be more difficult than all the other Droid mods and hacks...

You can't hack an amplifier. driving the sound is a very small amplifier that will only produce a certain amount of power. Once it's maxed, it's maxed. The only way to make more power is to lower impedance.

find headphones with lower impedance (the greek symbol omega represents this). Most earbuds are between 3,000 and 30,000-ohms. The lower the impedance the louder they will be. Look at Kicker earbuds... they get very loud, and respond to about 35Hz, so bass is clear. Lucid highs, and warm mids. Very good for any music type. They are about $80.

Beats by Dre makes a decent set, also...although they are quite expensive. They retail for about $180.

Both are very high quality, with woven fabric over the cords to make them tangle free. This means no twisting during your workout.

I have surround sound on my back patio and in most rooms of my house. When I plug into my amp, I do turn the volume higher than the stereo. But I have some cheap Wal-mart ear buds and another over the ear behind the head set. I use both mowing the lawn and I hear fine over the lawn mower.

I agree with everything your saying.....but do you mind telling me how you know the amplifier is being maxed out right now? Maybe we are only utilizing 70% of the available power. Unless you have some insider knowledge you cannot possibly know we are maxing the amplifiers output gain.

because it's my job to know these things. I noticed that sound quality was lacking so I ran it through my Audio Precision. I can see where the amp maxes on the distortion graphs. we're looking at about 3.8mW of clean power. my iPod Touch makes about 4.1mW. Not a huge difference, but enough to notice on the graphs. If the amp weren't being driven to it's max then the distortion curve wouldn't shoot up to 10% THD at 4mW.

That has been my biggest complaint with my Moto Droid and the Incredible...can hardly hear these things ring when getting a call.
