File this under "Laura is an idiot": My water bottle leaked all over my handbag this morning. .75L of water. (Should have thought twice about putting a sports bottle in my bag). Noticed the leak pretty quickly but FORGOT ABOUT MY PHONE. Now it is totally water logged, front of screen is fogged up, camera is obviously wet.

Upon realizing it was wet I immediately (four hours after the first drop of water hit) took the batter out and put the phone and battery in a small zip lock bag full of a pound of white rice (the traditional kind, not instant). Anything else to try other than just hoping this works to draw the moisture out?

I would just avoid turning it on for a day or 2 make sure u remove the battery then just let it dry on the counter for awhile after u take it out the rice with all the covers off... Not a idiot stuff happens last time I did this I was washing my bed sheets put them in the washer then about 45 min later I couldn't find my phone retraced my steps and the last place I remember putting it was... On my bed lol... I had to get a replacement.

I used a wet vacuum once on a phone to pull out all the water before letting it sit. In fact, that's all I used and the phone came back to life.

Tapped from an Unbrickable DROID
