I have a Note 4 and received a system update message. I updated the system and now my contact list is missing. It's buffering or something. It says "Updating contact list". But it's been stuck in that mouse for about am hour and no contacts are there. So my texting conversations only has telephone numbers now. Who remembers people's numbers nowadays? Ugh. What can I do? Help please.

Try rebooting. Google has been having some Sync issues the last few weeks. I'm only getting emails once a day

You can clear cache / data on the contacts app (system settings / app manager / all / contacts) and turn off sync in the system settings / account / contacts - reboot and then turn it back on and see if that resolves your sync issues
I get this message when I want to clear data. Is it safe? It won't delete my contacts permanently?

Glad I'm not the only one. I used to get 1-2 emails regularly throughout the day, then a few weeks ago nothing, but once or twice a day 8 or 10 will come through all at once. Quite irritating. Haven't been able to resolve it.
These are Google contacts correct?
I Don't know what. I did that clear cache thing and clear data and the updating contacts thing stopped. But I also lost all contacts. All I see is my number. Damn it
Do you have them set to back up to your Google account?
I think I do now. I added some new contacts and it asked me if I wanted it dabbed to Google. But I can't seem to find my previous contacts anymore
What carrier to you have?
