Tired of complaining about the Pre-Loaded Apps? See how to take action today!!

talking to supervisor now about preinstalled updates and motoblur.... I was told "we have been hearing it and we are working on it" ......

This is the number I called:

1800-734-5870 and ask to speak to a level 2 and or supervisor.

May I suggest when speaking to them we be on our game.... the main goal is not about the locked bootloader or efuse and dont call saying "motoblur sucks". Explain the issues with blur and preloaded apps.

For example this is what I told the rep:

We are wanting to have preloaded apps taken out of the system folder and for you to clean blur up. That using the sdk tools (better word then saying root) from google we were able to experiment with cleaning up motoblur and removing preloaded apps and by comparison if you open the running services the amount of MB free is more than with motoblur which is constantly trying to process a bunch of blur apps, widgets, and services. I compare it to a computer, if your computer is trying to process a bunch of applications and then you click to open your internet or a movie and it takes awhile cuz your computer is still handling other things. Though the droids can handle running apps and services in the background the more loaded down it is the more of the lag you will get. SO if you will PLEASE clean up blur and just keep the stuff you NEED from blur ie messaging, music, and stuff that is needed for the device to run in there and everything else either remove it or do not have it process unless i open the app (I personally prefer they remove it). Also I had an iphone and I have friends with droid x's who just got a system update with the same problems. Updating the system will not fix your problems unless you actually deal with the lagging issues which is a result of the system being loaded down with blur and unneeded apps. The droid 2 and droid x lag as much as the d1 and it has a faster processor and if you continue on the same path then the dual core processor will lag, so please send updates to the devices allowing us to remove unwanted apps. We understand this is a business and you need to make money so we have no problem with pre-loaded apps. Just give me the user the ability to remove them. And for the droid bionic please make sure we do not have the same problem. Because people are complaining and the iphone, which has a similar processor does not lag. So the problem is not much the hardware but the software. If you fix your software you will be amazed how well it will truly perform.

^ In a nutshell that is what told the rep. Be respectful, but lets make sure they realize we as droid users know our stuff. That we are not some average user who can not figure out where the battery is located. If they see we know what we are talking about and we are telling them then they would be stupid to ignore and continue down the same path.

i've said this before but MotoBlur is NOT GOING ANYWHERE. It's coming on the phones whether or not you like it. This was stated at the year end investors meeting.

I don't mind it on the D2 and have no idea what people are complaining about. If you don't like it don't buy it

i am not saying get rid of blur, i actually like parts of blur. They need to clean it up...look in your system folder or titanium backup and look at all the needless files that weigh down the system.

Yes because motorola gets paid by the companies to put the apps on there. But what they are saying is that they would like the ability to remove it. To me If they put it on there is fine, with at least the options of being able to remove it.

MOTOBLUR - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

This is motoblur. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the VZ navigator blockbuster etc. It's a UI that Motorola put over the android OS. I believe Verizon has more to do with forcing the apps on Moto than anyone thinks.

We know what motoblur is and from using blurless roms, and roms where you can choose your blur. Blur is part of the problem. Use root explorer and open your system folder to see how much junk is on there cuz of blur. Cleaning up blur means only have the NEEDED blur apps aka messaging, music and backup assistant. Everything else needs to be streamlined and cleaned up.

i got ronald aswell.

chat_enduser_message.png
d dalt: well the iphone 4 for verizon doesn't have any other "extra" apps that cannot be uninstalled, and my droid 2 is just as expensive, why should i have to have non-essential apps that cannot be removed?
chat_agent.png
Ronald D: I am sorry, but as much as i can help you, we do not have any settings or options to delete those application that came from the phone.
chat_enduser_message.png

chat_enduser_message.png
d dalt: i paid full price for this device, why has it come with apps that CANNOT be removed?
chat_enduser_message.png
d dalt: they are annoying and depreciate the value of the device
chat_agent.png
Ronald D: I am sorry, but we do not have any information regarding those application that can't be deleted.
chat_enduser_message.png
d dalt: did motorola put these apps on the phone or was it verizon wireless?
chat_agent.png
Ronald D: That is for Verizon Wireless purposes.
chat_enduser_message.png
d dalt: but i do not use these apps, why would i not have an option to remove them? they cost money and i have no desiure to pay for these extra apps. shouldnt there be a way to remove said apps? wouldnt you agreee that if you dont use them, then you should have the option the remove?
chat_agent.png
Ronald D: I know your frustrations, but as much as i can help you there is no settings nor options to delete those applications.
chat_enduser_message.png
d dalt: is there a way for you to make sure my concerns are reviewed?
chat_agent.png
Ronald D: Yes, all calls and conversations here in Motorola are being recorded and it is being reviewed with our much higher people, so expect that it will be escalated, thank you as well for bringing this matter to us.

hopefully we can make a difference, please everyone! keep it up!!!dancedroid

Good job.....continue the calls because they are working. When I called and talked to a higher up they said that they been getting a lot of complaints about it lately. Well I hope they continue to get more and for those who already talked to an live chat and want to go one step further here you go:

1800-734-5870 and ask to speak to a level 2 and or supervisor.

First motorola and then maybe we will go after HTC .... :D .
