Time on Battery

I noticed that when you go to look at the battery information and you see how long the phone has been on battery it doesn't count if you connect it to the car charger. After I pulled the phone off the car charger it just added the time as being on the battery. When you plug it in the wall it restarts the cycle as being "on battery". Anyone have this too?

I get about 12 to 13 hours before I have to go to the battery pack, and it just appears to be on battery but charging at the same time. What I am seeing is when plugged into the wall it see a charger, but if mine is plugged in it isn't doing anything, but on the pack I am still using it.
