Thunderbolt now or Bionic later?

I am also in this predicament, there are a lot of factors to consider. I think the build quality of moto phones are better than HTC personally. I guess you could say I am a moto fan, but I am not against switching. One thing HTC has going for them is a history of easier hack-ability and a good upgrade record. A huge draw to the TB is the $30 unlimited 4G that may not last for the next LTE phone. I would rather have the Bionic, it is better IMO. All I can do is wait now, if I catch wind that the $30 unlimited is going away, I might have to go TB.

Anybody take a look at the memory though? Should it be a concern that the Bionic is only suppose to have 512 RAM? You would think with all the other smokin specs, they'd throw a GIG in there!

512MB DDR of Ram which will make it much faster then the TB 768MB of Ram.
that's funny because in every test conducted the Tbolt is faster ,,,maybe motocrap should go to a quad core to try to keep up with HTC

Or maybe you should wait until the phone is released before you start saying test data ;)

Kinda hard to believe considering the Bionic isn't out. But whatever floats your boat. :)

the tests are already out and so are the reviews that say the bionics battery life is worse than the tbolt,,,,,,,,same old motocrap, overhyped and overpriced

Dont worry bout the overly obsessed HTC fanboy who drank the coolaide. He is just spouting nothing that makes sense and included no facts whatsoever. We will be the ones with the last laugh come release day for Bionic with the people randomly spouting off like this. I wouldn't pay him any mind guys, if he came with some hard facts (not to mention the bionic isn't even out yet to do a side by side) we would have a discussion on our hands but he is just being just like his name.

Edit: found this comparison chart of the Thunderbolt/Bionic/Xperia/Stealth that was posted on the 8th of this month that lays it out pretty decently (not perfect but hits the high points) for those still on the fence- http://gizmofusion.com/2011/03/thunderbolt-vs-bionic-vs-play-vs-stealth-v/

Maybe tests with a phone that hasn't been finalized or pushed to production... AND isn't due to be released for atleast another month. There is still plenty of time to make it better (not that your post actually contain data to prove it isnt).

HEH at least I put some sort of facts into my post above yours 13th unlike hughjass LOL. You and me are pretty much on the same page. BTW, I think a 1930mAh Bionic battery will last longer than a 1400mAh battery in the Thunderbolt.

I have yet to see a single test of ANY kind with a finalized version of the Bionic...what are these guys even talking about? Too funny. When the Bionic finally gets released, THEN let's talk about comparing the phones. You can't go by the videos posted of the Bionic in Janurary at CES. It wasn't nowhere a ready to ship phone at the time.

One thing I imagine, the battery life will probably we better with the Bionic, taking it's larger sized battery into consideration. Hopefully it will handle 4G speeds better than the Bolt.

lol, the one pattern I've seen in all the smart phones I've been around in the past two years is the battery life does not get better. What they need is better batteries and until that happens you won't see much difference from one phone to the next.

I am willing to bet that the battery life on the Bionic will be a lot better than the Thunderbolt. HTC is notorious for bad battery life and the battery is around 33% bigger.

Hydrogen fusion Powered phones. Wave of the future LOL!!

I agree. Also, dual-core processors are supposed to save battery life as well.

I've been getting pretty solid battery life on my TB so far, and on 4G/LTE 95% of my time... not sure why, but I'm happy with it so far. I live in a strong 4G area, so maybe that helps?

Wow to each their own maybe? I love everything about the Thunderbolt, but personally I want the Bionic. I want the dual core and qHD. I can live with the vga camera up front because I doubt I will use it that much.
