[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

So my binary is out of date and when I go to update it says it fails to gain root access... Any ideas!?

I had that once before as well...i think I ended up having to do a full wipe. Then reinstall cm7. I truly dont remember. Sorry I cant be more helpful

wipe data/factory reset will put all the settings and such back to default, you would need to sbf or flash a different ROM to get rid of CM7. The first time I wiped data, I thought the same thing though.

I've had a couple issues with data connection, both on wifi and 3G, and it seems to happen randomly. worst part is that with mine it appears to be connected, but when I try to do something it just times out or says "no connection".

If your using 3g turbocharger. Uninstall it and dont use it

Running the nightly build 9-26 cm7 anyone notice the battery life go down, I usually can go 3 hours using only 10% battery compared to right now I am using 30%. I am currently running jake bites mod oc to 1.25. Same setup as the previous version. I have already calibrated the battery... what else could it be? Other than that its find

ota gb rooted with cm7 with jakebites mod perfect

I was just getting on here to mention the same thing! Its terrible. 9/26 is snappy but def needs some adjusting

Mine seems OK so far...about 1hr 20 minutes off charger, web browsing and streaming audio podcast, and showing 90%. Usually I average about 5% an hour mixed use and sitting in my pocket doing nothing....have to watch it through the rest of today and see if things don't look right, since we're getting multiple reports of issues.

Backup

OK Im on stock and I have it customized to how i like it rooted and all, now If I want to go back to CMGB the go back to stock can I just restore the back up I made of stock in Clockwork? Or do I have to SBF to froyo reinstall The update and reroot?

Im going through each of the steps to install CM7 Gingerbread ROM but when i get to the part where i install update.zip it will not work. It says the file does not exist when i try to install it, any suggestions?

If you mean stock GB OTA, then you can wipe and apply CM7 nightly, and nandroid back and forth between CM7 and Stock GB.

If you mean stock Froyo, then you have to apply the GB OTA and then apply CM7 nightly, and you'd have to SBF back to Froyo to restore your Stock Froyo nandroid backup.

Confirm you have put the GB OTA file in the root of your SD card (not in a sub-folder) and that it is named update.zip, not update.zip.zip or something like that.

nan droid? thats the back up in clock work?

don't root, just get to stock Froyo: SBF - Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!; RSD Lite 5.3 & moto drivers - http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1306603535. RSD Lite 5.4: http://db.tt/yGo8M2k (If you're already on a Froyo ROM, you still need to do this to make sure you're on stock Froyo before applying the OTA GB update.)

I did the first step (since i was running Liberty GB v0.8), do i need to also do RSD Lite 5.4?

EDIT: i just renamed it update, instead of update.zip. It fixed everything, feeling kinda dumb

Any ideas what I can do about the superuser binary for 3.0 not working???? Can I uninstall/reinstall and if not would it mess my phone up to flash a new build?

You could re-flash the the latest nightly CM7 build, which will replace Superuser w/the older version, then you can run the update to the new version again and see if that helps.
