[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

I said hell with it and fired up script manager but got something different than you did redflea:

You have 475 mb of RAM on your device...
512 HP settings are recommended!

Slot 3 Sets Free RAM & is your New Task Killer!
Lag? Disable Lock Home in Memory & Compcache!

Interesting...my D2 is Bigger than yours. ;-)

Not sure why I got a different recommendation...you're using the version 9, beta 6 release, right? Maybe try removing supercharging using that menu option in the script, and then re-run the script and see what it says. I did get some errors w/the script reading some of my memory values, so there's always the possibility that the recommendation I got was "wrong." Everything seems to be running great so far.

Asking again...is anyone using an Exchange account on this ROM? If so, can you try creating a contact in your Exchange account on your phone and see if you have any more fields available than just First Name/Last Name when get into the new contact creation screen?

When I create a new contact on my phone in my exchange account all it allows me to add are first name/last name...creating one in my Gmail account has all the normal fields available.

Thanks!

I got the same message as him. I'm using v9 beta 6.1 (the latest). I chose the balanced 512 ledded option. Loving it so far. Plus I'm running the 3g turbo on fastest. I'm absolutely positive now that I'm being throttled. Serves me right though being in the top 5%

By the way, I'm not using an exchange account.

I went to contacts and created new. I selected the Exchange email account (it says corporate contact with the broken box icon). I have all the fields available for contact entry and the "more" which has just that. Sorry Redflea, can't understand what happened to yours. You're just using the stock email client?

When I run V6 suoercharger from Terminal Emulator, sfter I choose the option for scrolling speed that I prefer, a list of 17 options comes up, and I'm not necessarily sure what most of them mean. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Andrew! I haven't seen you around in a while!
Are you on the ota or the gb leak?
Read the top of this thread for full instructions and links.
If on the ota,
Dl cm7 and gapps
Bootstrap into cw
Wipe data, cache and dalvik
Mount system
Install cm7 (9/18) build
Install gapps
Reboot

Have you looked at the v6 thread?
Here's a good vid that may or may not help

Thanks very much for checking! :)

I'm actually using the Enhanced Email app, as I needed email search and the AOSP email client (WHY, on a Google phone!?!?) doesn't have search.

But I also got a response on the Rootz thread from someone else using a modded Email app (removes PIN requirement) that it works fine for him, and I don't think the email app should affect creating a contact within the Contacts app, so I'm going to clear data on the Contacts app, and if that doesn't work, wipe data/factory reset. Something appears to be futzed up w/my phone.

Thanks for the replies on the Exchange contact creation - it turns out it is an issue related to using Enhanced Email, but the problem does have a resolution, in case anyone is interested.

"...contact editing works perfect with your stock email app and with Gmail. This is due to Google allowing ONLY these two apps to create contacts and have full editing capabilities. The 1st link explains the limitation for 3rd party sync adapters such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and my app. A developer took the Contact Editor from the Android 2.1 source code and removed the limitation and uploaded the app to the market. That is what the 2nd link explains and that is my recommendation."

So the solution is to install "Contact Editor" from the market and set that as my contact editor...seems to work fine. Whew...

My recommendation to you is to sbf, get the ota. Root it with the d3 method and install cm7. You won't regret it.

Is there a way to sbf without a computer?

Droid2

If you buy the Team Black Hat app you can SBF using a ZIP file from CW Recovery...Google the app, it's not on the Market. I used it multiple times to SBF to Froyo. One person on this thread had some problems with it, but from what I've seen that is the exception.
