[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

1. Download the 9/08 build (link to it i the OP of this thread) to your SD card
2. Open ROM Manager and select "Install ROM from SD card"
3. Browse to and select the 9/08 ROM file
4. Select wipe dalvik cache, and select backup ROM if you are risk averse

Phone will boot to CW Recovery and install the ROM for you.

Thanks! I've never really understood the practical differences between wiping data, wiping cache, and wiping dalvik, so I don't intuitively know when to do which. These steps are helpful.

I'm having problems with the Gapps install after flashing CM7. Everything is running fine but i'm not quite sure how to install all the Gapps...can someone help me? I've been searching for a while and everyone says to flash them, but i'm not sure what they mean by that. Do i boot into bootstrap-recovery and flash that way??

Easiest/simplest is from ROM Manager.

1. Open ROM Manager
2. Select Download ROM
3. Select Google Apps
4. Select the version at the top of the list "20110828 Universal"

ROM Manager is free in the Market...good to have to makes some things simple.

Do NOT install any "Cyanogenmod Nightlies" from the Download ROM list in ROM Manager at this time - they aren't compatible with the GB-based CM7 we're running.

I wasn't able to get my ROM Manager updated so i wasn't able to see the "Download ROM" section properly. Everything's gravy...but, one more question: Should I "Wipe Dalvik Cache" when installing it?

You don't need to wipe anything when installing Gapps.

If you're downloading gapps externally (via browser) you can find the link in the OP.

Ok not sure it actually flashed correctly...is there a way to find out if I did? Like an app in the app drawer? I could have sworn it said completed before it restarted after flashing from recovery.

Undervolting will save battery. The interactiveX gov will or should save battery. The systcl tweaks built in will help performance and to save battery as well. It's a monster of a zip. Enjoy.

Finally, I know how to access Terminal Emulator commands for this ROM! I have been banging my head against the wall for the longest trying to figure this out. As soon as I saw this I immediatey accessed Terminal Emulator commands and overclocked my phone to 1.3 GHz. Oh, happy day!

Could work, but why would anyone unroot? ;-)

Seriously, if I'm unrooting a device to return it to VZW for some reason (the only reason I would), I'd SBF it back to stock which un-roots and clears out anything and everything so my device is crystacl-clear clean.

Having a problem with USB connectivity. It's detecting my device but when I'm attempting to open the "Removable Disk" (SD-Card) I'm getting a "Please insert a disk into drive X". I just updated all of the Motorola Drivers but still can't gain access to my SD Card!! Help!! I'm on the 9/8/11 Nightly...
