[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

GPS works fine, turns on, locks in, and tracks w/out issue for me in Google Maps, Navigation, My Tracks, etc. Likely something specific on your phone...Maybe an app like GPS Test can help you see what's up?

Oh I know mine does too most of the time. But sometimes it does not :) I should have wrote this was intermittent You can uncheck it or check it but when you go back in it's not ticked or its ticked still. Only a reboot fixes it. On the rootzwiki thread i remember other people saying they were having the exact same issue.

As you say, mine is working perfect right now. But I just woke up and its on a fresh reboot with 100% battery.

I don't know about you guys...But I feel that the battery life is cool and all..but I had more stable results and not to mention more flashing freedom on the old cm7...I think I'm going back...for a bit anyway...honestly I don't really care for the update either..maybe go back to the leak as its easier to move around...but I'm just not sure yet..decisions decisions...lol

My D2 is miles ahead of me running Cm7GB(OTAkernel)

I'll keep an eye on it, but I haven't had any GPS issues to date...worked every time I've used it, and I have used it pretty frequently, usually once every day.

There is a settings bug that some people run into that is said to relate to restoring data on CM7 using TiBU, where some settings won't stick. That sounds like what you're referring to...

There's no reason to return to the GB leak for easier moving around, it has the same restrictions that being on the GB OTA does - you have to SBF to return to Froyo.

Going back to CM7 Froyo is the only change that make sense to me, if you feel like you had a better setup there.

I've been running rev's CM4D2-GB after doing OTA GB update. What are the steps I need to do to move to the 2011-09-08 version?

1. Download the 9/08 build (link to it i the OP of this thread) to your SD card
2. Open ROM Manager and select "Install ROM from SD card"
3. Browse to and select the 9/08 ROM file
4. Select wipe dalvik cache, and select backup ROM if you are risk averse :)

Phone will boot to CW Recovery and install the ROM for you.

Now I am having the issue with getting my wireless turned on. I get "error" when I try to enable it.

For those having GPS issues do this..clear data from whatever GPS app you are using as well as the Google Services App. Not saying it will work for all of you but it does fix some GPS issues.

yep! im having the same problem! i havent had wifi since getting on build 9/8....i should have stayed on 9/2 since everything worked! ive reflashed and tried everything i could to get it working. now im rockin 9/2 build again.

Weird...wifi working perfectly on 9/08 for me.

It would be cool if someone would do a nandroid and then wipe data and see if the wifi problem persists...since it's not consistent, that usually points to an issue that is specific to a device and wiping data resolves a lot of those issues (that and sometimes re-flashing the nightly).

i got the same error.. wifi would turn on but not turn off, restarted phone and now wifi's off but gives me a error when i try to enable it.. fixed permissions through rom manager but did nothing. wiped cache/davik cache and still nothing. reinstalled build 9/08 and everythings good.. but now my display settings are sticking, i put it on bright and now it stays on bright everytime i lock and unlock my phone.. annoying

IMO trying to get my battery life back to what it was before the OTA is going to be difficult to impossible. However, I've been able to get past the 24 hour mark on low usage. If I can get to the 48 hour mark like where I was before updating, I'll try to give a description of what all I did to get there.

To be honest, I'm just tired of everyone asking if it's worth it. Try it! It's the best the d2 has to offer imo. It's takes 5 minutes to reverse it (which I don't think anyone would do anyhow :)

Pay it forward

Hellz ya !
