[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

yep! im having the same problem! i havent had wifi since getting on build 9/8....i should have stayed on 9/2 since everything worked! ive reflashed and tried everything i could to get it working. now im rockin 9/2 build again.

I was able to resolve by restoring a backup of 9/2 and reapplying the 9/8 update. It was caused by the 3g Turbo charger script.

Okay, so I sbf'd and wiped out all data an cache. I then installed the stock 2.3.3 gb update that was on the droid 2. I then rooted and flashed cm7. Did this 2 times now and keep getting stuck at cm7 boot screen. What am I doing wrong?

What is the update.zip file? Is that different then 2.3.3? When I try to load that from the recovery screen it keeps failing, do I need the stock GB to be able to do it?

Anybody having issues with the Chrome to Phone App? Mine seems to have stopped functioning.

Edit: Nevermind. I ran fix permissions and fixed it right up.

Are you reading, and following exactly, the steps in the OP of this thread?

If you follow those steps/use those files, it will work.

Basically, you get back to stock Froyo (2.3.20), then you flash the official, stock GB OTA using the stock D2 recovery, root GB OTA using the one-click root, install clockwork recovery using Droid 2 Bootstrapper, then go into Clockwork Recovery and flash the latest CM7GB nightly. Then you're good.

That process works...just make sure you're following those steps and using the files linked to in the OP.

The other steps I've found that make C2P work when it's being troublesome:

- Log out and back in again to C2P on your PC
- On your phone, open C2P and disconnect and reconnect C2P to your phone

Okay, sorry but 2 things are confusing me. 1st, in op instructions it say to both use d2 bootstrapper and then says not to install or boot through it. Am I supposed to uninstall after I use it?

2nd, is the gb ota update. Do I do the settings>about phone>check for updates> and then install 2.3.3 and let phone restart. I then download linked ota gb file in op instructions to computer, rename update.zip and copy to root of sd card. I have 1 click root ready to go. Once phone starts back up in new stock gb rom, what to do?

Only use D2 Bootstrapper before you install CM7GB. Once you have CM7GB installed, you should uninstall D2 Bootstrapper, since using it would likely boot loop you and make you have to start over at Froyo SBF.

You have two options to get to stock, unrooted GB OTA, after flashing to Froyo stock, and then u:

A. I put a link to the GB OTA file in the instructions. Download put it on your SD card, and rename it to update.zip, and flash that from stock Recovery. (That is my preferred option, as you then have the OTA on your SD card for future use as needed, and downloading from the link is likely faster than downloading from VZW.)

B. Use settings>about phone>check for updates> and then install 2.3.3 and let phone restart. Simpler if you don't feel comfortable w/the steps in A above.

A and B above both get you to the stock, unrooted, GB OTA. Your choice.

Then you continue with step 4 in the instructions in the OP - one click root.

yep im back on 9/8. im just not using 3g turbo or v6 supercharger. i went back and forth twice and i still had the same problem without using any mods. Its probably just my phone being a.....droid 2!(im a little bitter still against the droid 2) lol! all is well now. for the next update m just going to wipe everything and go to it and then go back to 9/8 and then wipe agan and go to the update. :) yep yep.

There's no reason to return to the GB leak for easier moving around, it has the same restrictions that being on the GB OTA does - you have to SBF to return to Froyo.

Going back to CM7 Froyo is the only change that make sense to me, if you feel like you had a better setup there.

IMO trying to get my battery life back to what it was before the OTA is going to be difficult to impossible. However, I've been able to get past the 24 hour mark on low usage. If I can get to the 48 hour mark like where I was before updating, I'll try to give a description of what all I did to get there.

What have you done to achieve battery life like that? I'm always interested in increasing my time without being plugged in.
