Text Lag

I got my droid x on July 16 and I never deleted any text messages. I noticed my texts lag really bad. I'm guessing its from not deleted any of my conversations. I dont feel like deleting any of my text but I probably will. I was just wondering if the text make your droid x lag like it does mine.

I usually delete my text convesation after a day or two at most so not sure about that lag in text usage.

Maybe I should delete them. I don't know why I don't. Theres probably over 2000 with over 50 different people so I have no doubt that that is whats causing the lag.

also, settings>apps>manage apps>messaging>clear cache should help too

You can easily backup all your text messages to your SDCard with an application called "SMS Backup and Restore". It is a free app in the market and one of my favorites as well. After you back them up, delete all your text messages on your phone and clear the cache as Abe stated.

+1 to this if you do not want to delete, back them up...this way, you can access them if you needed them in the future...

luv2increase probably recommended the best app out there for this...SMS backup...
