I'm referring to it as a 'Task Bar' since it does not have a name on the smartphone features pages that shows the basic functions on the phone. I'm referencing the 4 options at the very bottom of the phone: Menu, Home, Back, & Search. The problem I'm having is that they rarely light up anymore. This is irritating because they are nearly invisible otherwise. They work. I can press one of the functions and it will open up the options but they don't light up. Any suggestions?

Have you Tried the power on reset?
Hold per and volume down for 15 seconds.

Holding the power button gets you a prompt (phone options) - everything from 'silent mode' to 'power off'. I chose power off. Waited 30 seconds or so and powered back on. No change. Called the Mgr. of the Verizon store I purchased the Maxx from. He said that this was a 'known issue' - probably a software issue. There is no remedy. He is hoping that ICS will include a fix.
