Syncing to Google Calendar

I just upgraded to a Droid X and had a regular droid before. My old droid, if I put an apt into it, it synced in Google calendar AND outlook. If I do it with my droid X it doesn't work. I have one google account and I did add it to the phone. It works in the other direction. If I put it in google calendar or outlook, it does sync to my droid, but not the other way around??? I did clear the data out and then turn off and on and it didn't work. Any ideas?
