Have you called VZW and closed the number on the device?

yea they put a note on my account but my phone is locked no way they are going to get in but i have google maps on my phone is there anyway of getting it trough that

Do you have latitude enabled on it?
If so you should be able to log in to https://www.google.com/latitude and see where the device shows up at.

Problem is that you need to accept it on the device.... There is no way to track or locate a device unless an app was installed prior to being stolen.
