Sprint just pre-announced their newest 4G data plans for tablets. The new plans will become available on November 11th. This was probably timed purposefully to coincide with the release of the new iPad 4, the iPad Mini and the newer Android tabs coming out, like the rumored Nexus 10 from Samsung. The new plans actually run about the same price as the plans from AT&T and Verizon, but Sprint always tries to provide extra value for their customers, so the difference is that you get more data for these plans at a similar price. Here's the press release below with the details in bold,

Starting on Sunday, Nov. 11, Sprint will introduce a variety of new, aggressively priced rate plans for 4G LTE-enabled tablets that offer customers up to 20 percent more data than Verizon or AT&T for the same price. These new rate plans will be available to all Sprint 4G LTE tablets and require no contract.

Sprint smartphone customers can add a tablet to their account with a specially discounted rate plan that includes 1GB of data for only $15 per month or as little as $10 per month for 100MB of data on the Sprint network. For a limited time, Sprint is waiving the Activation Fee on all 3G/4G LTE tablets.

Additionally, Sprint offers four plans designed specifically for 4G LTE tablets, starting at $14.99 for 300MB of data, $34.99 for 3GB of data, $49.99 for 6GB of data and $79.99 for 12GB of data.

Sprint also offers convenient Sprint Mobile Broadband Passes (no contract offers) for tablets, starting at $14.99 for 300MB of data, $34.99 for 3GB of data, $49.99 for 6GB of data and $79.99 for 12GB of data.

Sprint Mobile Broadband Passes are great for customers who want the freedom and flexibility to bill to a credit card and might only need a plan occasionally.

Looks like it, soon there will be no more unlimited data, the all you can eat buffet is closing shop, the new "big greedy corporation buffet" opening soon at a location near you.

Not necessarily.
This is labeled strictly for tablets
Does not say it affects phone data plans in any way

If they keep phone plans like they are now, unlimited
and keep the tablet data plans separate, it's not all that bad.

so unless there is fine print we are not seeing that targets all products in Sprints lineup
lets not be hasty and rush to assume they are doing what VZW and ATT have done

I was sitting and thinking this is the same model VZW and ATT used. Same pathway same road. Lol Sprint has had some good news of late. I hope that's not coming to an end. Bloomberg report said they had lost a boat load of customers this last quarter.

It says specifically for 4g lte enabled tablets so it does not affect phone data.
