Since Google's Project Fi piggyback's off Sprint & T-Mo, does this mean that Fi just got a boost in speed and coverage as well?

The interesting play, to me, is to keep a single VZW line for the coverage (data AND phone)...then get a Sprint (or maybe TMo) plan for your other devices.

Even with VZW, it doesn't hurt to have a second carrier when you travel and NEED to be assured of service almost everywhere. Although usually such people go with AT&T for a second line.
