Skype: getting random calls

So, I activated the VZW loaded Skype on my Incredible to try it out because of all the positive press I've read/heard about. For the next two days I got unsolicited calls from power dialers for random companies. Visa, AmEx, Chase, car companies, credit scores, etc. I guess this is because my phone shows up to them as a computer. I'm not worried because I've got an unlimited data plan, but it was really annoying, so I uninstalled. Anyone else have this problem?
I used to have Skype on my home PC, but had similar problems, why?
