since so many of us are having google nav issues...

If you're willing to pay for VZ Nav then why not just buy a dedicated unit like a Nuvi or TomTom?

I haven't had any trouble with google nav, of course I would like to see some more features included with it but so far I'm happy.

What issues are you having?

There are no issues with navigation that I know of... mine and many others works awesome!

Do tell!

Yep, mine works great too. OP, you are going to find more people who will complain then will tell you it's working fine. People are very picky too when it comes to navigator, many want full GPS capabilities, complain about the robotic voice. All petty complaints as far as I'm concerned. Is it perfect? No, far from it. Does it fail? Yes, some have said so but I've yet to experience that.

I used it for 210o miles right after I got. Went all the way up the east coast. It wasn't off once. SO what's the issue with yours? It's pretty accurate if you ask me

Add me to the chorus -> THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH GOOGLE MAPS/NAV!!

I use it all of the time and it works like a charm. What the hell do you want?

What will happen is somebody with an iPhone will see this thread and say, "See there is all kinds of problems with the Droid" because of the title and amount of responses. Maybe the OP did that himself (or herself)?

My problems are with the inconsistent perfomance. When it works, its perfect.
When it doesn't , 35-40% of the time, I experience two problems:

1. inability for gnav to find my current location
2. inability for gnav to find a gps signal. At times it is "searching for gps" for 30mins.

I don't care about the mechanical voice or other limitations.

It seems to find me where ever I am? Sometimes it's slow getting a GPS signal when I'm indoors but in my car, nope.

A couple times now, it had a hard time finding a GPS fix. I finally restarted and it worked fine. Also, how's your data/cell coverage when you are having these problems?

I had another application cause Google Navigation to be inaccurate on the location. It would put me near the spot but not very good. Then it would update every minute or so. Once I uninstalled the application causing the issue the Navigator worked great. I would bet the problem is another application causing the issues.

I'd gladly pay $10 a month for a few more months than the $150 for a stand-alone-unit. I also really enjoy having less to do.
When the gps is connected to your address book life is easier.
Putting in addresses is no fun and neither is having more to carry.
