Selling Your Verizon Contract With Unlimited Data To Avoid ETFs

With Verizon ever tightening its grip on grandfathered unlimited data plan holders, especially those who love to mod their devices, there is no doubt a few of you who are ready to ditch Verizon and move on to greener pastures with a carrier like T-mobile. Your only issue is likely the fact that you will have to cover your ETF. There is actually a way to avoid the ETF altogether. You can use Verizon's AOL (Assumption Of Liability) policy to transfer your Unlimited Data plan to someone else. You could more than likely find someone here on Droidforums who would love to take this account off your hands, or you could make some money on Ebay by selling the account. The only drawback to this is that you will lose your phone number. However you may be able to keep it via a guide here. Before biting the bullet you should definitely research coverage on the carrier you plan to jump to. In my neck of the woods Verizon is still top dog, and other carriers are still lagging pretty far behind.

I have unlimited, a modded phone and I'm not under contract. Sounds like some people are doing it wrong.

I have 4 unlimited lines.. 1 that just sits.. Not selling.. All are not under contract..

Crazy talk is right. My coverage & unlimited plan are priceless. (Regardless of any throttling tomfoolery) [emoji2]

Unlimited data line here, on a month to month contract basis "my contract with Verizon ended July 24th of this year", I can leave whenever I want, but as long as I can still have my unlimited, there is no need to go to an inferior network.

yup, month to month and unlimited. Im not leaving until they boot me off. Am about to spend full price on LG G3 too, lol. Anyone want to sell me their upgrade??

This right here. I have been on month to month unlimited since Dec 2013; I have no reason to leave right now.

Same here. My last phone of the 4 rolled off contract in July.
I have four lines and I also have a promotion that Verizon was doing a few years ago that gave $20 off unlimited on each line. Yeah, you heard right.

So unless Verizon is kicking me off, I'm parked forever and I'm paying full retail for my phones.

Can't wait until October 2nd. When we begin to hear how bad optimization will be.

And to put an end to rumors. Then and only then will be truly know if being under context excludes you from optimization or not.

Good news is you can still upgrade and keep unlimited via loopholes.
