Here's my very plain monochromatic theme:
There is still a little distortion...but not as bad as before. Originally the icons that I used were 120X120. When I dropped those in to the Helix..they got all screwed up. So I started resizing them...40X40 seems to work.

Very, very, very nice <smile>. I would also not mind stealing it just like it is <smile>. I would a different background color, but the structure / arrangement of everything else, just very.... what?.. "matured?" <smile>, since everyone around here seem to be kids.

do you have a QR code for helix2. i can't find it and yes, i am rooted (if that matters).

did you search for helix2 or HelicLauncher 2
and you need a 2.1 rom and it only currently works on BB 0.9 and Cyanogen

Ummm, where to start...
First you will need to root your phone. The easiest way is to go to the Android Market and install "DMUpdater". It will literally do everything for you in regard to rooting, installing busybox, and sprecovery. Don't worry if you don't follow that last sentence.
The DroidMod team does have a nice ROM out right now, but I personally use Smoked Glass version 6.0.1, which was developed by Adamz. Use the following link and read the instructions carefully to install his ROM: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/adamz/29999-rom-tgz-smoked-glass-v6-0-03-15-android-2-1-ese53.html
If you do not want to root, I recommend starting with "Helix Launcher", which can be installed from the market. It gives you up to 7 screens to work with, as well as the ability to customize the bottom 4 icons.
Are there particular things you are looking to get? It is much easier to answer specific questions than to start from the beginning.
If you are really new to this, I recommend spending a few days browsing the forums and picking up as much knowledge as you can before diving in too deeply. It can be overwhelming at first, but there are lots of helpful people on here and almost any problem you may encounter has likely been seen before.
There are many walkthrough threads on the forum put together by people who are much more experienced and better at explaining things than me

Hello, just curious, what kind phone do you have? How long have you had it? Just curious about the "rooting" thing... I want to know how easy / difficult it is, etc?

... I guess I should have written "Serveitup911" at the top, right?... I just don't know man... too much new stuff <smile>"Where to begin," Well, actually what I'm interested right now, is in being able to make SCREENSHOTS of anything on the droid's screen. I've been reading and asking a bit, and heard you can not do this unless "rooting" your cell. Someone also explain is a bit risky and could void your warranty which at first scared me a bit, although some people say, it's really not that difficult to do. I ALSO, watched several YouTube videos recommended on the subject by some people, although everyone seem to have their own favorite app for this.
But now, I realize what I really wanted to ask you! It seems as if you do this "rooting" different things with your eyes closed, correct?... SO. obviously... You are not afraid at all of doing these techniques to your phone, right? So it must be very safe really if you know what you are doing... given that you have been doing it for a while w/o damaging your phone, correct?
Because at first, the name alone "rooting" (like getting a "root canal") sounds scary
, and as complicated as brain surgery!... But everything I read, they say you can actually back up all your important data etc... And if you wanted to, you could even "un-root" the phone back to its "like new" state as it was when you bought it, correct?Just give your thoughts on this and I'll leave you alone <smile>. And yes I will check where you recommended.. the yellow stickers.

It most likely works on blackdroid's ROM too.

I jumped the gun in my last post...
DMUpdater is not in the market, but you can get it here: DroidMod Updater released - DroidMod
To install DMUpdater:
1) Download the .apk from the link using firefox on your computer
2) Connect your droid to your computer via usb
3) select "mount" in the notification bar
4) Transfer the .apk file to your sd card
5) eject your phone via your computer
6) select "turn off usb storage" from the notification bar on your droid
7) Install Astro file manager from the Market
8) In Astro, navigate to DMUpdater.apk on your sd card, and tap to install
9) Run DMUpdater
10) You are rooted
Using this app will root your droid, install all the tools you need to get the most out of your root, make a backup for you, and give you the ability to go back to a stock, unrooted phone if you need or want to.
The rooting process is very easy now in my opinion, and while it is possible for something to go wrong, it is usually easy to revert to a backup.
As far as screenshots, I use an app called drocap2 to take them directly from the droid, but it does require a rooted phone.
All root means is that you have access to the base or /root directory of the phone. This means you can modify system files, much like being an administrator in Windows.
If you are reckless, you can screw things up. But, if you carefully follow the excellent guides on this site, there is very little chance of anything bad happening.
