Pretty much. I use Metamorph, but it still requires a move/morph with every update.

How can I write it for MM so that I don't have to manually extract the apk every time?

the structure for it is pretty simple i have some set up grab one and replace the iamges with the ones you want the thm file is set up to point to the apk that needs to be modded

If you're unrooted, then nope, besides ADB, the only way to take screenshots is with a home replacement that supports it, such as the Home++ that you mentioned.

If rooted, you can use drocap2 or ShootMe. I think they require root because they get the screenshot from Home. This is why no one can do it without rooting unless they use a Home app that works that way.

It's a Smoked Glass one. Not that great but it will do for what you want. It also changes all the highlights and stuff to blue. If you ONLY want to modify the tab, then you can remove a lot of the other files and just leave the 3 tab images and the trashcans if you want to change them (i didn't).

No, that theme is setup to look in /system/app so move it first.

Pure Messenger. Combines Gmail, Corpmail, SMS, Facebook and Twitter. Has various skins...and you can launch all of those apps from the widget. There is another one out ther called Executive assistant...I like pure better

These. The download files has both dark and light. I resized the four I used to 40X40. I found this helped when moving the short cuts into the helix. Helix does weird things to bettercut short cuts when you move them into the launcher.
