Screenshots of peoples Droid desktops?

how do you like the "2.0.1 with 2.1 Apps" setup?

--Scott
I'm diggin' it to be honest. It runs smoothly, no hiccups, no force closes or anything. It runs all my apps fine and has the look and feel of 2.1. It's definitely a safe move and doesn't require root to do.

2.1 Felt a little sluggish and had a couple bugs I didn't like. So I went back to 2.0.1 with apps and I like it. :icon_ banana:

I thought in order to get the multi touch browser on 2.0.1 and all the 2.1 apps in that link you had to be rooted? If there is a way to get the multi touch browser without rooting let me know thanks a lot.

So, I recently removed Home++ and just added it back on again yesterday (about 3 hours later). I could not deal with the ugly Status bar not going away without having to root my phone and the sluggishness of Home++ seemed to have started when I started using Apps Organizer app. So I removed Apps Organizer and reinstalled Home++. I decided to give the "More Icons Widget" a shot and I absolutely love how I can put every app Icon that previously took 3+ screens all in one row. I now have room to actually personalize my phone a bit more with pictures of my wife and family. I wish there were a better Picture Frame like widget with some size options but this will do for now.

i am with you! I am only using more icons now no home replacement at all.

Is there anyway to backup the original BW and then upgrade to the new style and switch between them on your phone? I like the original BW but I want to try out the new look and wqant to be able to go back to the original if I want. If anyone has any advice or way of doing this let me know thanks guys.

yeah... download astro file manager it will let you make backups of your installed applications and stores them on the SD card.

do the backup then upgrade if you dont like it uninstall it then use the backup to reinstall the app.

I pretty much have my home screen with the few basic things I use most (thanks to the power strip having phone, contacts, and browser), then my sports screen, music screen, and news/finance screen.

so im new to droid and im hearing alot bout home++.. wut makes it so special?
I don't think there are a ton of differences between all of these home applications, but Home++ is free and allows screenshots so I'd imagine those are two things that are big reasons that so many people have it. I'm sure you or others may prefer other ones because it may have certain things you need to use but for the most part they are all pretty similar.

Widgets:

Screen 1: 2.0.1 music widget, S2 Calendar Widget (3x3)

Screen2: Texts from last night widget, FMLife widget

Screen3 (main screen): Beautiful Widgets Home, Battery Life

Screen4: 2.0.1 Picture Frame widgets

Screen5: Beautiful Widgets toggles

Running Launcher2 from 2.1 (love it so far). Most of the icons came from packs on kde-look.org and gnome-look.org, with a couple coming from the original ibox icon packs (the iphone ones, I did a google search for them). Still looking for a better phone, maps, and barcode scanner icon; and I need to enlarge that gTalk icon a bit.

Here is something for you guys if you want to have some fun with your screen captures.

I made some "Screen Capture templates (Picture Frames)" from the Super High Rez pics that come with the Motorola Press Release Kit. I think I have them about perfect for screen captures. Since the original images came directly from Motorola they are very photo realistic.

Here are the blank templates and below that samples of these with screen captures (vertical and Horizonal) pasted on them.

What skin is the clock on your beautiful widget?

Font is Android, but the skin is the new default look.

Basically Stock boring stuff compared to all the cool ones here, but it works well for me...today (it changes all the time) :-)

what home screens are you using??

I'm kinda new to this home screen stuff. Is there any way I can just add more screens instead of the stock three??
