Screenshots of peoples Droid desktops?

Running Helix Launcher (up to 7 screens and up to 4 user defined app short cuts on bottom row - making be use of droid real estate) and Beautiful Home (HTC Desire flip clock skin). This on my rooted droid running Pete's ese53 rom...

I edited the png files in my Launcher.apk and so now I have custom folder icons (open and closed) and a custom app drawer handle that changes color with states and is partially transparent, as well as custom delete bar thingie... WOOHOO! I'm liking my Droid more and more!

I was screwing around with the live wallpapers and actually came up with something worth keeping my main screen clear!

My concoction consist of....
- Smoked Glass 6 (test 9)
- I fixed the notification shade and added some icons to the framework.apk
- 250-1000MHz
- pushed my new favorite wallpaper ever to the system
- reskinned KrazyKrivdas Home++ launcher from Dark Rom SE with his old skin from the original dark rom and pushed to system

I still cant believe my custom wallpaper came out so sweet!

Looks good!

are you running the full home++ app or just the launcher? I made the mistake of updating to the new version and now live wallpaper doesn't work. I've been searching all day for the 8.0.7.15 build to get them back.

If you want that version back, go to their website and click the link for it under the barcode.

Introducing Home++ (Home++ by Intuitit)

Did you have to "unzip" and "rezip"? Just copy and paste to the residing location?

I used 7-zip and just dragged the new files into the right folders within the apk through that, and it overwrites the old ones.

I made another change: the background of the app drawer is now partially transparent (just the handle was before, but now they both are!)

So based on your posts and the below quote from the other thread, once you unzip with 7zip and replace the files, you don't have to rezip? If so, maybe that's what I've been doing wrong.

Copy the launcher.apk from system/app to your SD card. Put it on your PC.

Extract the file using 7zip. Modify whatever PNG files you want and keep the names the same.

Then OPEN the launcher.apk with 7zip. Drop the modified PNG files into the correct folders in the archive. It will replace the files with the same name.

Then put the modified file back on your sd card.

Use root explorer to paste the new launcher.apk back into system/app (after mounting as R/W). It will overwrite the original.

Then change that file's permission to look like this where X is a checkmark and O is no checkmark.

XXO
XOO
XOO

Then mount back as RO, then reboot.

Search the threads I have started for my modified launcher with some more detailed instructions.

Reply back here if you have questions. I do this a lot and I always use root explorer, rather than adb.

I didn't have to rezip anything. just drag-and-drop then follow those directions. Worked like a charm. All of your widgets will need to be reinstalled, just as a heads up!

I love app organizer for folders. Highly recommended. Also allows you to change icons.

Five pages enough for now (don't even need 'that' much with the folders, and seeing as I'm not really using two of them :))

Lower image shows what folders look like with App Organizer...love it. Using Helix launcher (up to 7 screens). Beautiful Widgets (old version) only way to go. Stupid HTC -- their app looks like crap now.
