Screen timeout changing to "Never timeout" by itself

Occasionally I've noticed that the screen timeout which I set to 30 seconds changes to "never timeout". My normal indication that this has happened is that the battery low warning happens. Are there apps that do this on their own? Are there shortcuts that do this on their own?

I have a Droid and have not experienced this issue. Hopefully someone with an X may be able to provide insight.

I noticed the same thing after the most recent system update.
