Screen light won't turn on when using slider, HELP!

So, my backlight for both keypad and screen won't turn on when I slide out my keyboard just right before the space bar. It was working earlier, then suddenly the phone shut down. When I turned it back on, the problem starts happening. The keypad still works, typing it with it. I can see a little bit on the screen, it just dones't light up. Any fix with this?

BTW, screen lights up as long as i'm not sliding out the qwerty.
