Sandisk announces 32gb microSD card

SanDisk on Monday announced that it will start shipping its much-talked-about 32GB microSD card. The card will allow any compatible phone or mobile device with a microSD slot to carry 32GB of music, movies, and other media on one very tiny card.

"With the large volume of photos, videos, and music that consumers create and carry around, a high-capacity memory card is a must-have component of today's smartphone," Sanjay Mehrotra, president and CEO of SanDisk, said in a statement. "This is the highest-capacity card of its type, and SanDisk is pleased to be the first to ship such an advanced product."

The new 32GB card carries a suggested retail price of $199.99, but most likely that price will fall as online retailers fight for the lowest price. Comparatively, customers can get a new SanDisk 16GB microSD card from a retailer on Amazon.com for less than $40. The card will be available for purchase soon on SanDisk.com for U.S. and European customers, with worldwide availability coming in April.

I definitly want one as i'm starting to get in a habit of putting movies on my droid. Def not 200 bucks. I don't think i'd even pay a hundred..

Well maybe itll take a while to drop in price, but come on, nobody is going to pay 200 for a card. Maybe if it was a 200GB card and our phone could take it...

Those cards will sell like hotcakes. "No one will buy it" it completely false.

yep, will sell like crazy. Prices are controlled, regulated or estimated (whatevers the right term) depending on demand. High demand = High prices.
