Samsung Galaxy S2 stuck on 7% while updating software

(I'm not very sure if my explanation will make sense, english isn't my first language haha)

So I decided to update the software of my samsung galaxy s2 and while it was being downloaded, it was at around 27% and it stopped downloading, so I canceled it. I decided to click on "check for updates" but it said "no connection" even if my wifi was working perfectly.

So I tried to install it. The next screen did say that it has finished downloading, I believed it, and I proceeded to install the software update but now it has been stuck at 7% for an hour. How do I fix it?

It is, I got the software update from the phone's settings

I've been trying to restart it by removing the battery and placing it back but it keeps coming back to the installing screen

It's been 6 hours and it's still stuck at 7%

try the following

1. Turn off phone
2. Remove the battery and reinsert.
3. Hold down Volume UP and Volume Down keys
4. Press and hold the power button while still holding down to BOTH volume keys.
5. As soon as you see the Samsung logo, release all keys/buttons.
6. Press on the Volume Down to scroll down to teh delete all cache data.
7. Press home to select.
8. Wait for a few minutes for the phone to clear the data.
9. Then press home to select reboot system now.
10. Wait for your phone to reboot.

It doesn't work for me sadly. I don't see the samsung logo, I see the page where it says that the software update is installing

I'm starting to think that it's stuck at 7% because the download for the software update was actually incomplete, how do I fix it?

be honest, I am surprised the s2 is still being updated by samsung.

What carrier is your phone model ?

Pixel 2 XL

Update: I was able to get to the android system recovery screen but I can't use the home button to select. I can use the volume keys to highlight the choices though
