S4 freezes

My phone freezes when updates are available. Must restart and then update icon appears. Anyone else having this problem?

Try this. Go to the app manager - scroll to all and find the Google Framework. Clear the cache, force stop/close and restart the phone.

Cache cleared. How do you force stop/close?

On my phone under Google Services Framework top left is force stop.

My husbands S4 freezes, shuts it's self off & has pop ups all the time & my S4 does none of these things. We got our phones Feb 15, 2014. Any ideas?

It sounds like he may have some adware or other malware on the phone. Does he have any anti virus apps on it?

We both have Avast anti virus on our phones, I know he has adware or malware on his phone but, I don't know how to rid his phone of it, if you do, feel free to tell me how to do so.
