[Rumor] Screenshot from Google I/O Might be a Peek at Jelly Bean

For a while now we have heard rumors about Jelly Bean, Google's next OS for Android. Some rumors suggest that the OS will be Android 5.0 and will bring a slew of changes and enhancements commensurate with a full version number upgrade. Still other, (probably more accurate), rumors suggest that Jelly Bean will simply be Android 4.1 and will be an incremental evolutionary update instead of a full blown new OS version. Luckily, we won't have to wait long to find out because we will probably know something for sure next week as Google kicks off their I/O conference for this year.

Regardless of what features are changed or added to the new iteration of Android, we can't forget that Google might do some tinkering around with the UI a bit too. In fact, some folks over at PhanDroid have been spending some time staring at a new screenshot that came out of Google I/O press releases. They are speculating that because the Google Search bar is a bit translucent, that we might be seeing something from Jelly Bean. Now, they might be just letting their imaginations wander a bit, but we like the way they think, and appreciate the speculation.

What do you guys think? Could we be seeing a hint of Jelly Bean in the pic above?

Hopefully they don't rush it out too soon, I'm still on GB, as I'm sure like 80% of all android users are. Interesting tho that jelly bean might just be a normal update that doesn't up the OS version a full #. Judging by that pic It would sure seem that way.

I thought more like 90%+ are still on GB. Has the ICS update even been pushed to any phones that didn't come new with it pre-installed?

It is kind of a fail for Google to be unveiling a new OS when most don't have the current one. Different from how Apple operates, but maybe not otherwise out of the norm (Windows comes to mind, sort of).

Fail for Google? How? They release the new OS and the Google phone that runs it.. job done. Moto and HTC etc get to work on jamming it full of crapware and whatever else so lots of time goes by.

They need to slow these releases down. Make big releases and upgrades yearly like Apple and WP seems to be doing. Especially with how horribly slow the manufacturers are with releasing their versions to their customers. My wife is still waiting for 4.0 on her Rezound. This is exactly why I went with a GNex phone this time around. I hated the wait with Moto.

Hopefully, is android 5.0 os im tired of google old way of updating us with different os. I rather see them give us minor update 3 time a year to fixed bug issue then to add feature unless it next OS for every year.

Can't really blame Google, it's mostly manufactures faults for putting on their ugly skins and "optimizations." Carriers are also to blame...

I can actually blame Google as much as it is manufacture fault it doesnt take to long for company to built in software if hacker that can fix buggy roms in 1 month or 2 month can do it so can they. I have feeling Google only release Nexus line to hype up the OS and have phone they can call their own so people can put the blame on Sense,Ninjablur or Touchwiz UI fault. If Google didnt release Nexus line i bet our phone would of gotten update quick like in 2009 and 2010 year.

I think the only faults you can put is the US Carriers as Europe get the update on galaxy s line and HTC line quicker update because they dont bs with preloaded apps or keeping the update because of upcoming phones to sell more.

I think Google need to stop the update and worry more about the OS bugs as our operating system is perfect and fine the way it is. Just give us minor update to fix wifi issue for some or OS slow down bugs and ect.

I think he meant by Google shouldnt release Mayor OS quicker then just 1 year.
I would like for Google to release it every 18 month if they could then no one will have to whine about them being behind or ect.
Less phone can be release and Developers wont blame that android have to many phone to label which one they can allow users to play or use in google play store.
